Although Abraham Lincoln’s presidency was cut short he accomplished more than many presidents ever get the chance to. He preserved the union, emancipated the slaves, led the country through the Civil War and still helped heal the wounds after the great war ended through his lenient punishment of the Confederacy and help in rebuilding the South.
