This would explain the enormous detail the movie involves, and the powerful views the movie shares with its audiences. There was a battle on a cliff, and Uncas was killed, after which, the girl he loved stepped off and died as well. Chincagook came in at a sprint with Nathaniel clearing a path for him and killed Mogua swiftly. After which we see a burial ceremony for Uncas.
