The Good Morrow
John Donne's poem the "Good Morrow" is a classic example of how social values were developing in the 17th century. This poem is successful as it is not only original, but uses universal emotions. This is presented through Donne's use of shifting tones and moods, his simple structure of three quatrains, each representing a different period in their lives, as well as his imagery and strong sense of realism.
