Jackson and his supporters may have run a platform supporting the United States Constitution, political democracy, individual liberties, and equality of economic opportunity, and they certainly did trick many into believing that these values were valiant, but they were merely pursuing their personal beliefs and interests. This is proved by the hypocritical behavior of the Jacksonian Democrats, concerning issues from slavery to economics to the interpretation of the Constitution.
