He finally lets go, and relieves himself of the stress that has burdened him for so long. Many people are still fighting the fight against conformity. They too are burdened with the same problems Holden was carrying around. They too will have to let go, or die. Conformity is an undefeatable concept; the sooner the anti-conformists realize this, the better.
