In-groups and Out groups In this essay I will discuss the Greek notions of in-groups and out groups and how they relate to confucian principle of Jen and the Hindu caste system. The groups ranged from teachers and perchers, to administrators, to traders and business men, to blacksmiths and carpenters. The fifth group was ranked so low, they were considered to be outcast or untouchables. All three groups reported in this paper have very similar beliefs as far as people and there place in society, those who belong and those who do not. The reading was interesting and insightful.
