IMMIGRATION
Immigration has played a major role throughout the history of the United States. Beginning in the early nineteenth century there have been massive waves of immigration. The immigration waves that I will focus on in this paper are those from China, Russia, and Ireland. I will show how these groups were assimilated and/or acculturated by discussing their family, work, and community structures as well as communicate the mixed reaction to these incoming foreigners

given this opportunity and it is apparent the negative affect this had on them by their struggles to succeed.
Perhaps if Africans had migrated to American on their own terms rather than being brought here for use as slaves, then they would have experienced and overcome similar situations to that of other immigrants. Unfortunately the past has already been writen; however, we can learn from what has happened in order to better shape the future.
