Anne Hutchinson was born Anne Marbury in Alford, England, in 1591. Francis Marbury, Anne’s father, spoke out that many of the ordained ministers in the Church of England were not fit to guide people's souls. Anne's father was a deacon at Christ Church, Cambridge. 1636 Anne Hutchinson was charged with heresy and banishes from the Massachusetts Colony. She was a very religious woman and challenged the Puritan clergy. Her preaching was considered heresy by the Puritans.
