Hitting Bottom in "King Lear"
When everything falls to pieces, when your plans fall apart, In Real life we call this reaching "bottom." When a person reaches bottom, we feel torn apart, hopeless, we don't know where we are going, but when we reach bottom, there isn't anywhere left to go, but up. After we reach bottom we start to realize what we had, the mistakes we made, and what turns on the path we should have taken.

Not until Gloucester went blind could he see that it was his son Edmund that betrayed him, and his son Edgar loved him still. Not until King Lear went Senile did he start having rational thoughts, and realize that it was Cordelia that loved him the most.
