…showed last 75 words of 2175 total…from one ancient source to the next, most of these ancient accounts are taken literally as fact. Even if one ancient historian, such as Cassius Dio, records a fact or covers a topic no other ancient historian has, it is taken by modern historians to be accurate truth--unless it conflicts with another account written by another historian. The historical problems I’ve related here seem relatively insignificant to the average university student of Roman history.
