Goodman Brown is portrayed to be a good man with the best of intentions. As most of us know, however, the best of intentions are not always enough. He begins his evil errand with the firm mindset that "after this one night” he will never do wrong again (Hawthorne 164). Unfortunately, this was not the case for Brown. If we know how our story ends and we do not like it, then we can rewrite it. It may still end the same, but we will have a different story. For some people, our story and our ending may change and be different, but at least we have a choice.
