Whilst the subject matter of this highly engaging collection of short stories can leave readers shocked, it is this effect alone that may finally open our eyes to the degradation that has poisoned a proud culture. Weller’s individual effort as an author has triumphed in that each story significantly brings us closer to fully realising the very real plight of indigenous peoples in Australia and our empathetic reconciliation with them.
