Society will never cease to impose “proper” gender roles upon its people. These roles aren’t always fair, OR accurate, but, as the goth community shows, they CAN be bent or even broken. It is the demise of these rules, in Devor’s opinion, that will finally free society of the constraining gender codes that dominate our every move.
