The Beastie Boys are one group whose portrayal of femininity has changed over the years. In their first albums they viewed women as objects there for their pleasure so their portrayal was negative. In their latest albums they apologize for their actions and for the actions of all men so their portrayal now is positive. They also speak out against the abuse of women.

Over the years the Beastie Boys’ portrayal of women has changed, which is a good thing. They realized that how they acted was wrong and in a sense grew up and matured. Some rappers who are older than the Beastie Boys still haven’t matured. In the beginning their portrayal of women was negative, but in the end it is positive. They have set an example for all other rappers to follow.
