Analyzing our individual free will can be very intriguing and can almost reach the point of being paradoxical. Ultimately, free will determines the level of responsibility we claim for our actions. In fact he argued exactly the opposite, he argued that the society that raised the client and brought him into the world was what caused his problems. The environment in which he learned and lived is what thought him to be the way he was. Under this banner of argument Darrow never lost a client to the death penalty if they were even convicted of the crimes against them.
