The Narrative of The Life of Frederick Douglass is a book that touched me a great deal. Before reading this book I had mixed views about slavery. Now that I have actually read it and have a greater understanding of the issue at hand, I clearly developed my own views about it. I feel that slavery is not justified and is immoral.

this book I was able to feel Frederick Douglass’ pain with him. At times, it brought tears to my eyes as I pictured these horrific scenes in my mind. To anyone that has doubted the wrongdoing of slavery I have no doubt in my mind that this book will have an effect on your thoughts. If this book doesn’t shape your mind at all than you are no better than the slave owners themselves.
