Since the beginning, Hamlet, Laertes, and Fortinbras had been proclaimed bastard
by the deaths of their father by another’s hand. Experiencing the same pain of the loss of
their fathers, each of them wished to seek the recompense of it with the blood of those
who murdered their fathers. With the experience came a driving force that would

and Fortinbras with the catalyst of the insanity of Ophelia. The oncoming of Laertes into
the chamber made him the foil to the men. By the end, Hamlet and Laertes completed
their paths to oblivion which was the hell they were so damned by their vows of murder.
The very same vows that had made them a foil to Fortinbras.
