On the evidence of Antony and Cleopatra’s relationship we can see how this makes the partnership of Antony, Octavius and Lepidus unworkable. The relationship of Antony and Cleopatra is one that is very much developed and we join the play at this stage, they are clearly in love and Antony is enjoying the hedonistic atmosphere.
We can see that Cleopatra is very much in love with Antony, although she could be seen as obsessive.

In his lack of responsibility to Rome and all those who follow him, Rome is in turmoil. Partially what changed him was the life style that Cleopatra followed in Egypt and this hedonistic, relaxed attitude compared to Rome a strict place which is shown as a well structured, ordered and where people put honour and duty before all other things. All of this resulted in the fragmentation of the triumvirates Antony, Octavius and Lepidus.
