GOLDMAN SACHS
For this project I chose to visit the Goldman Sachs office building in New York City because my cousin Beth began working as an analyst in investment banking for their corporation this year and because I may be interested in a similar job after college. Through my visit and interview with my cousin on November 21, 2001, I observed a strong emphasis on teamwork and establishing friendly relationships between coworkers. I also noticed

be very happy with their jobs and work environment (this may be a biased opinion because I only talked to Beth and her friends). They held their superiors in high esteem because of their accomplishments and insights instead of their power. The stressed value of teamwork contributed to the friendly and overall pleasant atmosphere of the workplace. As Beth put it, “We work hard together, play hard together, and somehow the projects get done.”
