Willy because she did not support him enough. Linda becomes similar to Lady Macbeth in Shakespeare’s Macbeth, in that she makes a habit of removing and returning a small piece of hose every morning and every night. Finally, Linda dies in her sleep completely alone, and unnoticed. It becomes quite clear that she was merely the peel on a fruit, similar to Willy, seeing as her sons never show up to check on her.
