Neil’s journey of denial begining at the start of the new school term where he gets a new roommate named Tom Anderson. When his friends hear Tom is the most effected of them all. Therefore I conclude that the reason Neil committed suicide was that he felt that he had no way out of going to military school and that he had no way of controlling his life which for Neil was acting.
