In comparing Keats 'La Belle Dame Sans Merci' to 'First Love' you can see many similarities. Both were written in the 17th Century and are written in the style of their day. However, Shakespeare's is the most consistent as his poem is specific in its syllables and the alternate lines rhyming throughout. This consistent style of poem could be suggestive of his emotions and the positive feelings of love that he continues to have and will long live, 'so long lives this'.
