The book Citizen Soldiers by Stephen E. Ambrose is an unforgettable testament of the WWII generation. Citizen Soldiers tells the hardships and triumphs of the United States military from the Normandy Beaches to the surrender of Germany. Stephen Ambrose interviewed many GI’s and officers. Through these interviews Stephen Ambrose gave the reader a first hand experience on how WWII was fought.

The Book Citizen Soldiers by Stephen Ambrose was very inspirational to me. Citizen Soldiers told stories of how soldiers would keep on fighting, even if it meant dying for their country. As a future leader in the United States Army I will have to motivate and encourage my soldiers to fight, no matter how hopeless winning seems.
