Censorship: Tyranny in Schools Censorship has always been a part of society. Restrictions have been placed on pretty much every form of media at one time or another. The problem that I see with censorship involves who has the final say on the banning of any type of speech. In our schools this issue is particularly relevant. …showed last 75 words of 369 total…was banned because it was deemed to be racist, when in actuality it is against slavery and racism. I plan to write a letter to a school board explaining my stance on censorship. I will encourage them to include the banned books in their library and take out the biased textbooks. Students should have a well rounded education. They need to be exposed to everything, given all the facts, and then make their own conclusion.
