1. Check the scene to make sure it is safe.
2. Get a bystander to call 9-1-1.
3. Check for breathing and pulse.
4. Care for the victim.
a. Lie victim down if not already.
b. Apply direct pressure.
c. Elevate the leg 12 inches. Do not if there is a head, neck, or back injury.
d. Wrap tightly with bandage.
e. Apply pressure to pressure points to reduce blood flow to wound.
f. Keep the victim warm and comfortable.
