On March 5, 1770, five colonists were killed and six wounded from British attack, who is to blame. Some people say Captain Thomas Preston was to blame other say it was brought on by the colonists. The actual event is subject to much controversy. Tensions were high at this time between the British and the colonists so witnesses’ views can be slanted. in the trial of Captain Thomas Preston, even though he was not a shooter he was the captain and must take responsibility for his men’s actions. I feel that Preston was not guilty, the witnesses’ views that agreed with Preston seemed to be truthful and less slanted. Both the prosecution and the defense agreed with the same issues as Preston did and these issues made it clear that Preston was not guilty.
