The novel The Bluest Eye deals with the absence of love in a child’s life. By reading the novel it was obvious that Pecola had no love in her life. Pecola didn’t even have the love that a family is supposed to provide. I’m sure her mother loved her, but she never showed affection towards her daughter.

her know the good in herself. If her family wasn't so full of problems I think life wouldn't have been as bad for her. She could have a more positive self-image if her parents gave her a compliment or two every now and then. Her parents should have taught her to be positive and that beauty comes from within. I think her parents had a lot to do with the way she thought and acted.
