story along and helps give it interest. I don’t think MTV’s hip-hopera version is a very good attempt at replicating the original story. But I do think they did a good job of writing the words for the hip-hopera. The characters were just too different. I had personally never seen an opera before watching Carmen in class, but I really enjoyed it and I would like to see another opera in the future.
