The Anglo-Saxon epic Beowulf is one of the most important works. The epic tells the story of a hero, a prince named Beowulf who got rid of the monster Grendel. Beowulf has many other images, symbolic themes and motifs, but the most important theme is what represent the characters wealth, honor, religious, glory, and loyalty. These themes don¡¦t only define a character, but they also factor in as a motive for their actions.
