The United States Decision to Use the Atomic Bomb
Throughout history many important decisions have been made that have had a great impact on the world and culture. One outstanding decision was Harry S. Truman’s decision to drop the atomic bomb on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II. This decision had drastic effects throughout the world and brought an end to the war and Japan’s imperial empire.

Today the atomic bomb and its results are still remembered. All fear nuclear warfare and many countries have negotiate disarmament, particularly the United States and the former nation of the Soviet Union. The dropping of the atomic bomb affected history in many ways, it sparked the Cold War, ended the Second World War, introduced revolutionary and powerful weapons to the world, and reduced most two of Japan’s major cities to barren wastelands.
