Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 in Kentucky. In 1818 he moved to Indiana. On November 4, 1842 Lincoln married Mary Todd. In 1832 Lincoln became a candidate for state legislature but he lost. Later that year he was appointed to postmaster of New Salem, then later became deputy county surveyor. Lincoln ran for the Illinois legislature but was not successful. Two years later Lincoln was elected to the Lower House for four terms as a Whig. After this
