protect themselves from injury.
To defend themselves, they used weapons such as
swords, maces, axes, lances, nets, crossbows and a
variety of other crude but effective weaponry.

If I were a knight and could choose only one weapon,
it would be the sword. It would be “customized” to the
perfect weight and length I would need to be effective
in battle.
I would not wear any type of body armor. Even though
they had improved its’ flexibility and weight over the
years, armor is still armor. That means cumbersome
body weight ... not something you want when you are
in mortal combat.
