Orwell’s Animal Farm, has a great deal of symbolism behind her. She is a simple looking white goat that reads the commandments to Clover whenever she requests her to do so. She symbolizes the literate working class that, because occupying only a small portion of society, feels unmotivated and oppressed to stand up and rebel against its corrupt leaders. She is an essential character to both modern society and Orwell’s novel, Animal Farm.
