The movie Amistad is a 4 star film because I believe it is historically accurate, very effective in showing the way slaves were treated, and the way slavery and the American judicial system worked during the Antebellum period. I would definitely recommend it to use in history classes, and for anyone else for that matter. Some important things I learned from the movie were how slavery and the American judicial system worked in that time period, slavery laws, regarding territory and where they came from, and finally that language is a strong barrier.
