The story of the Amistad is one that will hopefully never be forgotten for it is a story of courage and the American way. “We are what we used to be” (John Quincy Adams). What John Quincy Adams ultimately meant is that we would not be what we are today if our ancestors, our founding fathers, had not done what they did to make The United States of America what it is today.
