It almost shows that you can’t just change over night and expect all your past misdeeds to not come back. Derek killed black men through his hatred, and now Danny is killed by a black man from revenge, albeit the two incidents are not connected. It was a very powerful scene, leaving a message only the viewer can interpret, that ended this moving film.
