Affirmative Action I believe that affirmative action should not be allowed or encouraged to remedy past discrimination. I feel that the affirmative action legislation shows favoritism toward minorities, which is not based on their own abilities, but by their nationality or race. Affirmative action was a noble invention that served its purpose, but it is no longer needed. I agree with president Clinton when he says, “mend it, but don’t end it.” I believe that new forms of legislation can improve and update the old affirmative action clause, without damaging the purpose of it.
