There's a growing trend within the educational system in America, often going unnoticed, by the mainstream populace. An increasing number of students are failing to meet the minimum skills required, in order to graduate High School. …showed last 75 words of 924 total…them a severe injustice. You're sending them out into a world against other more highly educated individuals, for which they are not prepared to compete against. It's like pushing them off a boat, into a lake, before they have learned to swim. If a student needs help in a specific subject, then he or she should get it, but we can't legitimately identify a student's problem areas, unless we first assess what they have learned.
