In A Doll’s House, the main character Nora, is potraide across to the reader through her verbal and physical actions. She is also described through other characters views and discussions about her. She is represented as a manipulative, selfish and spoilt woman that in the end works it out for herself and leaves.

In the end Nora gains self knowledge, “As I am now, I’m no good to them” (P.231), saying that the woman that she now is no longer needed.
This change, increase in self knowledge, led to her evolving as a character going from being a husbands wife living at home to being a woman in control of herself.
