In the book 1984, Winston Smith’s life, along with the entire story, was dramatically changed with the introduction of the relationship between Winston and Julia. Winston, a lonely newspaper re-writer, finds out that his thought enemy, Julia, isn’t whom he first believes. After their first informal meeting they seem to have fallen for each other. This is what eventually causes joy, anger, frustration and betrayal for both Winston and Julia.
