This brings me back to the question of globalisation. It is all very
well putting safety nets in place in stable democracies such as we have
in the Western world, but how can we let so much economic power be given
to the Far Eastern countries, such as Indonesia, which have very
unstable governmental systems? The Indonesian stock market is very
important in world economics, and the government was, until recently, a
single-party dictatorship.
